Dandy Lion Dreams

I have dabbled in crafts for years, learning crochet and embroidery from my grandmothers, photography from my Dad.  And I kept dabbling. 

I'm originally from Baltimore, where pink flamingos are A Thing - from John Waters' movie to lawn ornaments. I wondered, "Could I paint flamingos on a glass myself?"  

Looking for a different way to decorate Easter eggs, I discovered the beautiful Ukrainian art of Pysanky.

And then there was the photo I took of my dog, Dandy Lion, sleeping, dreaming, in front of the fireplace.  A dear friend pointed out that it was the perfect photo - lighting, subject, composition. "This is ART," she said. And it finally clicked - I wasn't dabbling for all those years. I was becoming an artist. 

And so, Dandy Lion Dreams was born. 

I hope that my creations will brighten your home and hearth.
